Thousands of Sri Lankans to invade Israel
Under the agreement between Israel and Sri Lanka, 4,531 people have been sent to work in the construction sector of Israel from 13.04.2024 to 30.11.2024. Those who went to Israel are those who will work in the newly launched Israel construction sector in February 2024.
The Foreign Employment Bureau has stated that another 1,802 people are set to go for Israel jobs from December this year to January 2025.
In this context, the Bureau has identified individuals and groups who are fraudulently receiving money through phone calls, text messages and WhatsApp groups.
In this regard, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has advised that fraud or accepting or giving bribes is illegal under the Bribery Act, and to avoid being caught in such fraudulent activities and to go abroad to work legally.
The Bureau has warned by reporting information about those who receive money fraudulently to the 1989 telephone number.
