Ukraine Seeks Stronger Air Defense, Discusses Drone Deal with Italy
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he briefed Giorgia Meloni on the battlefield situation and Ukraine’s urgent need to strengthen air defense capabilities.
During their meeting, both sides discussed defense cooperation and agreed to work out the details of a potential drone deal between Ukraine and Italy.
They also exchanged views on the Middle East and Gulf situation amid the ongoing Iran conflict, emphasizing the need for stronger global security after the war.
Zelenskyy stressed that Europe must coordinate more effectively to protect shared interests and way of life.
He thanked Italy for its continued support, noting that Rome made a clear stand in favor of Ukraine since the early days of Russian invasion of Ukraine.
