Sisters’ tragic death
A car carrying four members of the same family collided with a truck on the Southern Expressway between the Pinnaduwa and Imadhuwa entrances. Two sisters died in the accident.
The girls, Satisha (12) and her only sister Senuti Damsara (10), from Nube area, Matara, died in the accident.
The mother and father of the girls who died in the accident are seriously injured and are being treated at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
The mother of the girls who died is an English teacher at St. Thomas Prince’s College, Matara, and her father is a businessman.
The elder girl who died in the accident was on her way home to Matara after seeing a doctor at a private hospital in Narahenpita for her illness when the accident occurred. Investigations into the matter are being conducted by the police.
