Rice shortage will not be allowed to occur again! – President Anura assures
“There is no possibility of rice shortage occurring again,” said President Anura Dissanayake.
Addressing a meeting held in the Kalutara – Katukurunda area yesterday (19) evening, he pointed out this issue.
He added that as per the current situation, twice the estimated amount of rice has been imported. He assured that since there is currently more rice than required, a repeat of the rice shortage can be prevented.
At the same time, some have expressed the opinion that if the National People’s Power Party comes to power, the country will go backwards.
Furthermore, it was said that 700 million rupees are allocated annually for the security of former presidents. Now, the number of security officers for former presidents has been reduced to 60.
President Anura Dissanayake stated that if even these security officers are insufficient, all security for them will be stopped.
