New Zealand beat Sri Lanka to clinch T20 series!
New Zealand won the second T20 cricket match against Sri Lanka by 45 runs. With this victory, New Zealand took a 2:0 lead in the three-match T20 series and clinch the series.
The Sri Lankan team, which is on a tour of New Zealand, is playing this series and a three-match ODI series. New Zealand won the first T20 match by eight runs.
Today (30.12.2024) in the second T20 match held at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to field.
Batting first, New Zealand scored 186 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Here, Chapman scored 42 runs, while Tim Robinson and Mitchell Hay scored 41 runs each.
Sri Lanka then chased down a target of 187 runs but were all out for 141 in 19.1 overs.
With this, New Zealand won the T20I series by 45 runs.
The third T20I between the two teams will be played on January 2 at Saxton Oval in Nelson.
