Fuel to run out on Monday – Shocking news release
The Sri Lanka Fuel Distributors Association has warned that fuel stations across the country may run out of fuel by Monday.
Addressing a media briefing today, the association’s vice president, Kusum Chandananayake, announced that there will be a fuel shortage by Monday as new supply requests have not been submitted to the Petroleum Corporation.
Chandananayake also said that although the association has not engaged in any strike action in the past, the new decision by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has left distributors with no other option as a result of the changes made to the new formula, along with the removal of the 3% allowance.
In this context, Chandananayake, who blamed the Chairman and Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, appealed to the President to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
