Unrest in Kilinochchi District Development Committee Meeting
The Kilinochchi District Development Committee meeting began this morning, but shortly after, reports indicate that unrest broke out in the meeting.
An argument broke out between a person who entered the meeting without permission and Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna, which led to unrest.
In this situation, Fisheries Minister Chandrasekaran intervened and brought the meeting to a state of peace.
Today’s meeting was jointly chaired by Fisheries Minister Chandrasekaran and Northern Province Governor Vedhanayakan. Members of Parliament S. Siritharan, Ramanathan Archuna, Rajeevan, Ilangumaran, Pawanandaraja, former Member of Parliament S. Gajendran and department heads also participated.
