Special courts to try corruption cases in the country; Mano MP demands..!
Tamil Progressive Alliance leader and Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan has said that the President should consider establishing special courts to try corruption-related cases in the country.
Mano Ganesan made this statement in a post on his X page.
It further states,
I welcome President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s efforts against corruption.
The police, the Bribery Commission, the Attorney General and the judiciary are institutions that people trust in a democratic republic.
It is good news that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said that the Bribery Commission will reopen files of national importance and file cases by the end of this month and in February.
“The stalemate should be resolved by providing more resources to the Bribery Commission (including strengthening its legal powers), the Attorney General’s Department and the Criminal Investigation Division in the Police Department.
More resources should also be provided to implement the anti-corruption drive.
Meanwhile, the President should also consider establishing special courts for corruption-related cases, so that cases can be heard on a daily basis and progress towards conclusions,” it said.
