President’s New Year’s Message
“The New Year of 2025 presents an opportunity for you and us to realize the dream of a Sri Lanka where all people come together and develop,” President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said in his New Year’s Message.
In his congratulatory message, he further said,
“We are entering the year 2025 with the dawn of a new era where the dreams of the country and its people for decades are now coming true.
We were able to form a government with a majority in the 2024 parliamentary elections, uniting the four directions of North, East, West and South, and gaining the trust of all the people. Through this, we are currently working hard to implement the people’s mandate responsibly by implementing major changes in political culture and implementing the best governance that the people expect.
Eliminating rural poverty, the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ project and advancing the digital economy have been identified as the country’s top development needs. Based on this effort, the “Clean Sri Lanka” program will be implemented with the dawn of the New Year with the aim of improving society through social, environmental and ethical rejuvenation.
Through these interactive development activities, We will enter 2025 with new determination and brotherhood, further strengthening the economic stability achieved in 2024 and achieving the goal of “A Prosperous Country – A Beautiful Life”.
For the first time in Sri Lanka’s history since independence, you and I have been given such a great opportunity to form a people-oriented government and realize the dream of a Sri Lanka where everyone is united and developed. This responsibility has been placed on the shoulders of all of us. With this understanding, we will work with vigor and determination in 2025.
Happy New Year filled with prosperity, unity and new hope to all of you who are working with us for national revival!”
