Heavy rain with thunderstorms: Warning to the public
The Department of Meteorology has warned that heavy rains of up to 75 millimeters may occur in some places in the Eastern, North Central, Uva, and North Western provinces.

According to the statement, intermittent rain may occur in the Eastern, Northern, North Central, Central and Uva provinces and the Hambantota district.
It has also been stated that rain may occur in the Western province, Galle, and Matara districts in the morning.
It has been warned that strong winds may blow at a speed of (30-40) kilometers in the eastern slopes of the Central Highlands, in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, and North Western provinces, and in the Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
The public should take precautionary measures to avoid damage caused by lightning and strong winds during thunderstorms.
