Father brutally attacks son: A violent incident in Colombo
A father has been arrested and remanded for stabbing his son with a sharp weapon in Colombo.
The son was arrested and produced in court after being attacked by a drug addict.
Therefore, Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake ordered that he be remanded until January 1st.
The remanded person is Abdul Aziz Mohamed, a resident of Maligawatte, Colombo.
Police said that the attack was carried out after he had been sent to a rehabilitation center for drug abuse and had returned home after undergoing appropriate rehabilitation.
It has been revealed that the son who was attacked is a trader in the Jumma Street area of Maligawatte.
On the 21st at around 5.30 am, the suspect’s father stabbed his son with a sharp weapon, such as a knife, while he was at a vegetable stall.
The police told the court that they were unable to obtain a statement from the son, who was seriously injured as a result.
