7 people involved in archaeological excavations arrested!
7 suspects who were illegally excavating to obtain ancient artifacts have been arrested by the police.
Based on information received regarding the excavation activity that took place in the Meevalakanda area of Attulugama, Dehiowita, the police have conducted a raid and arrested the suspects.
The arrested have been identified as residents of Seeduwa and Dehiowita areas, aged between 25 and 56.
The police have also seized puja items and various equipment used for the excavation activities at the site.
The Dehiowita Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
