Tragedy in Jaffna – 23-year-old youth dies of rat fever
A 23-year-old youth has died of rat fever in Karaveddy area, Jaffna. A youth named Kirupakaran Krishanthan, a resident of Karaveddy Thalaiyampalam area, died at around 11:30 pm yesterday without any treatment.
The youth, who was admitted to the Point Pedro Base Hospital due to illness, was sent to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment as his condition worsened. He had fallen into a coma a few days ago and died last night without any treatment.
This incident has caused great sadness in the area.
