Tamil Language Festival of Kilinochchi South Education Zone was held today.
The said event took place today at 9 am in the co-operative council hall under the leadership of Deputy Director of Legal Education Vasudevan.
Jaffna University Education Department Lecturer E. Sarveswara, North Zone Registrar General Shivanayani Sarveswara participated as chief dignitaries in the event.
After welcoming the awardees at the event, the mangal was lit. Following the singing of Tamil Thai greetings, the arena events took place.
Jivaranjini Vivekanandaraja, a teacher who died in an accident after doing a great job for Tamil, was given the “Tamil Annai” award.
A portrait of the said teacher was taken in a procession and a tribute event was held. The award was subsequently presented to his family.
While the artistic performances of the students were held, the students who won the Tamil competition were honored and certificates were also distributed.
District education officers, principals, teachers and students participated in the said event.
