Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day events took place this morning at the Jaffna District Secretariat.
At the beginning of the event, there was a student band playing and marching.
Then the National Flag was hoisted by the Jaffna District Secretary Ambalavanar Sivabalasundaram.
A Nelly sapling was also planted by the District Secretary in the District Secretariat premises.
It is noteworthy that the Deputy Commander of the 52nd Brigade of the Sri Lankan Army, Police, Religious Priests and District Secretariat Officers were present in the event.
