The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka has warned the public not to provide their personal information to fake messages circulating on social media pages.
The Commission said it has received complaints regarding fake messages circulating on social media claiming that the President is providing financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to low-income families.
In response, the Director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Menaka Pathirana, has urged the public to refrain from providing their personal information to fake messages in this regard.
