Semmani Burial Ground: Strong warning about fake images created using AI
Lawyer Ranitha Gnanaraja has warned that legal action will be taken against those who share images created using AI technology based on skeletons recovered from the Semmani burial grounds on social media.
She said:
“All of this is part of a criminal case that is currently under court proceedings. In this situation, creating fake images and spreading them on social media can hinder the investigation. This creates a dangerous environment that can also change the direction of the case.”
In addition, there is a suspicion that some people are acting with the intention of diverting the case by changing the identities of the victims and spreading false information.
In this situation, discussions are underway on the steps to take legal action against those who carry out and spread such activities. If this continues in the future, she stated that a criminal complaint will be filed on the grounds of interference in criminal investigation and court proceedings, and legal action will be taken.
He also urged all parties to cooperate so that the court process is not disrupted.
