Meeting with Putin arranged – Trump’s announcement!
Donald Trump, the next president-elect of the United States, has announced that he has arranged a meeting with the Russian president.
The date and venue of the meeting have not yet been confirmed. However, the meeting is expected to take place before his inauguration on January 20.
Trump, who won the election last November, promised to start talks to end the ongoing war in Ukraine as soon as he assumed office.
In this situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin had requested a meeting with Trump to talk about possible solutions to end the war in Ukraine. Accordingly, the meeting has been arranged.
As Trump has commented on the steps needed to restore peace in Ukraine, which has been devastated by the Russian invasion that began in 2022, he may present new official solutions.
At the same time, Trump criticized the military aid the United States sent to Ukraine during his inauguration and the United States’ involvement in NATO under the Joe Biden administration.
In this context, the United States has been Ukraine’s largest supporter, providing more than $65 billion in military aid since 2022.
