HMPV Virus Spreading in China – Infection Confirmed in Two Children in India

Following the global impact of the coronavirus, which emerged in China in late 2019, a new virus, known as HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus), is now spreading in China, causing concern worldwide.

The first human infection of the HMPV virus has been confirmed in India. A 3-month-old girl and an 8-month-old boy from Bengaluru have tested positive for the virus, as confirmed by the health department.

The children are currently under intensive monitoring, according to reports from Indian media. The families of the affected children have not traveled recently, and they have been isolated and tested for the virus.

Similar to COVID-19, the symptoms of this virus include fever, cough, cold, and sore throat.

The virus has been particularly widespread in the northern provinces of China, with many children reported to be severely affected. This has raised concerns across many countries around the world.
