Gunshots were discharged into the air near a tourist beach hotel in Wellawatta, as reported by the police. The incident involved two unidentified men on a motorcycle who promptly fled the scene after the gunfire. This alarming event occurred this morning (Feb. 27) on Marine Drive in Wellawatta.
The suspects utilized a T-56 assault rifle during the shooting, leaving behind nine empty T-56 cartridge cases at the location. Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities resulting from the incident. The Wellawatta Police have launched an investigation to apprehend both the gunman and the accomplice involved in this concerning incident.
