Fraud in phone calls and text messages
The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Operations Unit has warned the public to avoid receiving money through text messages and phone calls on mobile phones.
These text messages and calls are often fraudulent.
Senior Engineer of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Operations Unit, Saruka Damunugala, said that recent phone calls and text messages are spreading information about winning prizes, overseas jobs, offers, and work-from-home opportunities.
He advised that it is very important that you do not give out your personal information through these.
