Trump Criticizes Meloni Over Iran War Stance
U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, accusing her of lacking courage for not supporting U.S. military action against Iran.
In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Trump said he was “shocked” by Meloni’s stance, claiming she was unwilling to assist in the conflict.
His remarks followed Italy’s decision to suspend the automatic renewal of its defense cooperation agreement with Israel.
Earlier, Meloni had also condemned Trump’s comments about Pope Leo XIV, calling them “unacceptable,” prompting Trump to respond with further criticism.
