Signature campaign in Mallavi for the release of Tamil political prisoners
A signature campaign was held in Mallavi town, Mullaitivu district today (02) demanding the release of Tamil political prisoners.
In this protest organized by the Militants Welfare Association, the collection of signatures was held demanding the release of Tamil political prisoners.
It was demanded that the new government immediately release Tamil political prisoners who have been arrested and imprisoned for a long time under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, and militants who have been rehabilitated and socialized but then arrested and detained again.
Most of the religious leaders, the public, representatives of social organizations and activists participated in this signature campaign and registered their support.
The collected signatures, in the form of a pamphlet, will be handed over to the President very soon.
