Jaffna Nagarkojil Fishing Day Day event
Jaffna – Nagarkojil Great Beach Seine Fishing Day event was ceremoniously held on 11.02.2024.
The fishermen association, fishermen and family fishermen who work as daily laborers have united to celebrate Karaivalai Fishing Day.
Year after year they celebrate this important day in view of the auspicious day of the last day of Thai month of Tamils. The fishing community observed Karaivalai fishing day after completing the religious event by fasting for 09 days to Naga Dampiran in Nagarkojil .
Fishermen, fishmongers, and daily wage family fishermen took the lead in bringing the trawled fish to the shore and marketing them for the day to the customers.
Coastal fishermen Sammatimars, fish farmers, daily wage family fishermen participated with their joy and interest.
