Government to Take Action if Laugfs Gas Fails to Supply LP Gas

The government will make a decision if Laugfs Gas does not take immediate steps to import and supply LP gas to consumers, according to Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe.

In a statement to reporters, the minister assured that there is no shortage of LP gas from Litro Gas. He emphasized that the country has two LP gas suppliers, Litro and Laugfs, with no current shortage in Litro’s gas supply.

The minister called on Laugfs Gas to clarify the reasons behind the shortage of their gas in the market. He warned that if Laugfs Gas fails to address the situation by importing and supplying the gas, the government will be compelled to take further action. Samarasinghe noted that Litro currently has ample gas stocks and stated that if the issue persists and requires cylinder changes to ensure a steady supply to consumers, the government will soon make a decision to resolve the matter.
