Brutal attack on audience at Hariharan’s music event!
South Indian playback singer Hariharan’s concert was very grand last night at the Jaffna Courtyard Open Air Arena. Many South Indian stars including Tamannaah, Ramba, Yogi Babu, Shweta Menon, Bala, Sandy Master participated in this. The event was organized by South Indian actress Ramba’s husband Indra and their Nothen Uni.
The event was scheduled to take place last December but was postponed to February 9 due to unusual weather.
Initially announced as free, the event was later announced as free for spectators of 25,000, 7,000, 3,000 and standing behind. The announcement caused disappointment and disgust among fans. Also, 30,000 rupees was announced for having dinner and taking pictures with the stars attending the music event. This caused quite a stir in Jaffna.
In this case, while the concert was going on yesterday, the fans broke through the barriers and rushed to take control of the open-air arena. Due to this, the police and security forces who were engaged in security duty were stunned.
Later, police and black-clad security forces launched a brutal attack on the fans. As a result, the concert was interrupted. The concert was then suspended.
Lack of proper planning is attributed to this confusion. Also, many people who paid money to buy rickets suffered due to lack of seats. But it was observed that many people had laid down five or six beams and stood up above the beams. Complained about this to the supervisors but they kept having fun without buying the seats. Students studying at Nothen Uni were also engaged there. When this was told to the students studying at Nothen University, they said that they were not working for salary and they were engaged there because of their education and they complained to the supervisors about this.
It is noteworthy that Santhosh Narayanan’s concert was organized at the same venue a few months ago and was held completely free of charge and there was no confusion.
