Russia to introduce free cancer vaccine!
Russia will offer free cancer vaccines to patients in its country starting in 2025, the Russian Ministry of Health has announced.
Andrey Kaprin, Director General of the Radiological Medical Research Center of the Ministry of Health in Moscow, Russia, recently announced this information on Russian Radio. The information was shared by the Russian state news agency TASS.
This new vaccine will be used to treat patients with cancer, rather than being released for the purpose of preventing cancer in general. It is also reported that each patient will be given a personalized vaccine, compared to cancer vaccines developed in Western countries.
However, details about which types of cancer this vaccine will treat, its effectiveness, and the testing methods involved have not yet been clearly revealed.
As cancer rates in Sri Lanka continue to rise, 635,000 new cases were identified in 2022. Meanwhile, human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines for cervical cancer prevention are already on the market.
Furthermore, neuroscientists at the University of Florida in the United States are testing a personalized mRNA vaccine to prevent brain cancer.
