The Department of Meteorology has announced that the rains will temporarily decrease in the Northern, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces from today (03).
The weather forecast states that rains may occur at many places in the Uva province, Ampara and Hambantota districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour may blow in the Northern, Eastern, North Central and North Western provinces, as well as Hambantota district.
Fog is expected to be observed at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
During the thunderstorms, strong winds may also blow temporarily in those areas. The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take precautionary measures to avoid possible damage caused by lightning strikes.
