Sri Lanka’s annual birth rate has dropped, according to pediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera. He said the birth rate has now dropped to 250,000 from 350,000.
He also warned that diseases such as cancer and diabetes are becoming more prevalent among children, and that attention should be paid to these diseases.
In the current environment, Dr. Deepal Perera emphasized that greater importance should be given to child protection.
