Elizabeth M. Allen, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, is set to embark on a diplomatic mission to Sri Lanka, India, and Jordan in the coming month.
A statement released by the U.S. State Department emphasizes the nation’s steadfast dedication to strengthening and broadening partnerships and alliances through these visits.
“The trip underscores the essence of U.S. foreign policy and public diplomacy initiatives, focusing on promoting freedom of expression, economic empowerment, and global collaboration,” the statement highlights.

This includes discussions with journalists, civil society members, government officials, and participants in the Embassy’s Youth Forum.
Her interactions with the Sri Lanka Press Institute, U.S. public diplomacy program alumni, and local content creators will underscore the pivotal role of preserving diverse voices for a stable and inclusive Sri Lanka, according to the statement.
Furthermore, Allen is scheduled to meet with representatives from Sri Lanka’s multifaith community, emphasizing the significance of societal inclusivity.
Following her visit to Sri Lanka, Allen will continue her diplomatic journey with a visit to India.
