Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella Opts Out of Parliamentary Session Despite Approval

Keheliya Rambukwella, the former Minister currently in remand custody, declined to participate in today’s parliamentary session (Feb. 07), even though authorization had been granted, according to information provided by the Prisons Department.

Despite being permitted to attend, Keheliya Rambukwella, the former Minister currently held in remand custody, opted not to partake in today’s parliamentary session (Feb. 07), as disclosed by the Prisons Department.

The ceremonial opening of the Fifth Session of the Ninth Parliament is scheduled for this morning, officiated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

On January 26, the Parliament was prorogued through a proclamation published in the government gazette, with the session resuming today.
