Tamil National Green Movement has distributed saplings in Akkarayan
Tamil National Green Movement has distributed saplings to Akkarayan Caritas Settlement in Kilinochchi. This effort is in anticipation of the Northern Province Tree Planting Month.
The Northern Provincial Council had declared the month of Karthigai as the Northern Province Tree Planting Month in 2014. The Tamil National Green Movement has been observing this every year. It distributes saplings free of cost to the public. Public organizations also receive saplings during this period. Additionally, they have been planting saplings.
In continuation of this, yesterday Sunday (17.11.2024), mango saplings were distributed to all the families of the Caritas Settlement in Akkarayan as requested.
The event, which was held under the chairmanship of Tamil National Green Movement Coordinator U. Nirojan, was attended by Green Movement Leader P. Aingaranesan, Deputy Secretary of the Environmental Protection Team T. UKAS participated and distributed saplings.
